Elements Revealed in the Podcast
Note: All questions and responses have been reworded and/or truncated to be more concise.
Q: What can you tell us about Infinity Blade: Dungeons?
A: It's an action-adventure RPG dungeon-crawling game for iOS devices. It's set a couple thousand years before Infinity Blade I.
Q: Who are you playing as in Dungeons?
A: You play as an apprentice to the Master of the Forge. In the game, you learn the ways of being a blacksmith; how to create weapons and use them against your enemies.
Q: What can you tell us about the demo you're showing at E3?
A: In the demo, you start out with basic armor and a weapon, and you go through the process of creating an axe. Some enemies and a boss are also fought, spanning across two levels.
Q: How does mining play a role in the game?
A: In order to create weapons, the materials must be collected. Some of these materials are ores.
Q: What is the forging process like?
A: A time-based minigame is played where you tap blemishes on the surface of the metal. Performing better in the minigame yields a better weapon.
Q: In the demo, there is a boss. Can we expect more things like that?
A: Absolutely, each level will have a boss.
Q: How does performance in the minigame affect the weapon?
A: I don't want to go into too much detail, but I will say that performance does affect attributes like damage.
Q: What are some different abilities you can get?
A: In one ability, you swipe across the screen to throw an enemy, and drag the line to other enemies to do chain attacks. With the hammer, you can draw a line to throw it at enemies. When you kill bosses, they also drop items you can forge into your weapons to power them up.
Q: Can you walk us through progression in the demo?
A: As you play, the enemies grow stronger. Forging is also tied to character leveling. As the game progresses, the character and weapon must also grow to defeat the harder enemies.
