Soulless Ausar is a Soulless copy of Siris' former self, Ausar the Vile. He is the main antagonist and the final boss of the Ausar Rising update. Much like Raidriar's Soulless copy, Soulless Ausar lived with negative and vengeful feelings. However, unlike Soulless Raidriar, Soulless Ausar does not seem to realize he is a copy, and believes himself to be the true Ausar the Vile.

Awakened during the battle between Isa and the High Priest Zuorsara, he ambushes Isa from behind with The Vile Mace, breaking her neck. After Siris is warned by Isa, he goes to confront the fake Deathless in the ruins of the Dark Citadel. In the remains of the elevator room, Soulless Ausar is seen sitting on a makeshift throne of various slain Daeril. Even upon his defeat, the Soulless remains convinced he is the real Ausar due to his implanted memories. Siris declares that the Ausar's memories and legacy will die with him, as he impales the imposter through the chest. But before he is finished off, Soulless Ausar grabs Siris in defiance and throws both of them toward the bottom of the ruined stairwell, killing himself and leaving Siris to be reborn.

Appearance[]

Soulless Ausar dons the full Vile armor set, albeit with a much more glossy appearance. In combat, he can wield any one of the Vile weapons; the Vile Blade, the Vile Mace or the Vile Thorn. However, he will not switch between them during combat as he cannot be disarmed.

Personality[]

Just like the original Ausar, the Soulless copy of Ausar is relentlessly ruthless, vengeful, self centered, violent, and cruel. He considers himself a deity who's name is stained by Raidriar. He has all the memories of the the original Ausar including secrets "even the Worker knows nothing about."

However, unlike the Soulless version of Raidriar that was created by the Worker of Secrets, Soulless Ausar believes that he himself to be the real Ausar the Vile, refusing to accept that Ausar was reborn after he was slain.

Combat[]

Soulless Ausar is a boss titan, complete with Spectrum defense, a higher than normal chance to possess a titan perk, and the ability to send the player back to the Hideout upon defeat.

He will fight with any one of the three weapons from the Vile set, including The Vile Shield if he is equipped with The Vile Blade. However, the player will not be able to identify which weapon Ausar is using before beginning the fight (unless he is equipped with The Vile Shield, indicating he's using The Vile Blade), which can make him a difficult opponent to prepare for.

During combat, the following characteristics come into play depending on the weapon class used:

  • The Vile Blade (Light) - When performing regular attacks, Soulless Ausar doesn't fight much differently from other regular titans. His shield bashes always aim for the center, and it borrows only one unique move from the Worker of Secrets in which he feigns a downwards slash to switch to a sweeping slash from the right. His fury chains are shared with other titans and carry few hits, although all of them contain shield bashes.
  • The Vile Mace (Heavy) - With The Vile Mace equipped, Ausar shares a tactic from the Worker of Secrets when he steps back before performing a slash from the right. He has two easy fury chains recycled from the Brutal Gin, however his hardest fury chain is borrowed from Ryth in Infinity Blade 2, where he performs a three-hit barrel roll from the left, a center stab, and finally a sweeping slash from the right.
  • The Vile Thorn (Dual) - Soulless Ausar becomes a greater challenge when using The Vile Thorn. Soulless Ausar will frequently use cross-blade strikes for sweeping attacks, including the bugged version that can only be blocked by Light or Heavy weapons. Two of his fury chains are recycled from Plated Guard (IB3) and Mercury Golem. His last fury chain is unique (only later also used by Ryth in Infinity Blade 3). It involves him performing a quick center kick, following up with dual sweeping leg kicks from the left, and finally a dual swipe from the left.

Soulless Ausar is a titan added by an update pack for Infinity Blade 3, and due to this, cannot be disarmed during the second or third phase of the battle to switch to a different weapon or have a specific titan perk deactivated.

Tactics[]

Despite his level and reputation, Soulless Ausar is easy to defeat with good strategy, stats, and equipment. It's worth using a defense gem that will counter his offensive element (more comfortably a Spectrum Defense Gem), and a weapon that has been upgraded; as long as the raw damage is high. Using a light weapon is the best choice. Be wary of his shield bashes, as even with high health they can kill a player in very few amounts of hits. To easily avoid this, dodge either left or right as the shield only hits the center of the screen. However if Soulless Ausar has the Super Fast Attack titan skill, the fight will become more difficult, but it is not hopeless, as the player can still use their shield to block a majority of his attacks.

Before fighting Soulless Ausar, it is somewhat possible to predict which weapon he is equipped with. Upon careful inspection of the cutscene before the boss battle, Ausar may have The Vile Shield equipped. If the shield is present, then the accompanying weapon will be The Vile Blade. If the shield is missing though, it is impossible to know whether he will use the Vile Mace or the Vile Thorn.

Trivia[]

  • Starting at level 125, Soulless Ausar is the 5th strongest character in Infinity Blade III, behind Galath, Varun, The Collector, and Ryth.
  • It is believed that the Worker of Secrets was involved in the creation of Soulless Ausar.
  • He switches between the Light, Heavy, and Dual weapons of the Vile set, similar to Galath. However, he does not switch between them during the fight, unlike Galath, and cannot be forced to switch weapons as he cannot be disarmed.
  • Soulless Ausar's weapons and armor is strangely significantly shinier than Siris'.
